EPA 604b/319 funded planning grants for WMAs now available

01.09.2018 - Des Moines, Iowa - An active solicitation (beginning 1/8/2018) for grant applications for a DNR administered sub-award for watershed-based, Comprehensive Water Quality Management Planning is now open. The maximum award available at this time is $100,000. The term of the planning work shall be 18 months, beginning from the Awarded Contract start date. Due to grant deadlines, the term of work is currently preferred as 4/17/18 to 10/31/2019.
The deadline for all applications will be 2/23/2018 unless further notified by the Issuing Officer (Steven Konrady).
Eligible Applicants include any Watershed Management Authority (WMA) that is formed as a separate legal entity under Iowa Code chapter 28E and that submits a Responsive Application to the Iowa DNR in response to this Solicitation. “Applicant” also may include a local or regional entity demonstrating the characteristics of a Regional Public Comprehensive Planning Organization (RPCPO), as described in Clean Water Act section 205, which is applying on behalf of a Watershed Management Authority. An RPCPO Applicant shall include a narrative explanation of how it demonstrates the characteristics of an RPCPO and its specific relationship to any WMA. For purposes of this Solicitation, an RPCPO Applicant may consider any Iowa Code chapter 466B WMA characteristics to be indicative of its capacity as an RPCPO.

Each Applicant must identify the fiscal agent for any Contract resulting from this Solicitation, and will be responsible for any reporting requirements and work products. Each Applicant must have a federal DUNS number (http://fedgov.dnb.com/webform).
